IFA 2022 – a successful return?

IFA 2022 - a successful return?

IFA 2022 was clearly not as busy as the last time and official statistics talk about 161.000 visitors in total. This looks pale compared to 2019 where 245.000 visitors were counted, but still quite promising when comparing to 2018 (150k). It wasn´t easy to find out how many trade visitors were actually at the show but there were two hints.

The official IFA press statement mentioned that proportionally there were slightly more trade visitors this year than last time. And another source revealed that about 60% of visitors in 2019 came from the trade, so this makes about 100.000 visitors from the trade which still look like a very important and relevant trade show.

On our own booth roughly 40% of visitors were Germany, followed by the UK, Poland, Italy, France, Sweden, Netherlands and Switzerland. So but why did people come to see us.

Right up to the last day of the preparation and set-up phase, we were tinkering with the stand and trying to prepare everything as best as possible for the coming visitors. Our biggest focus is to present as wide a selection of our products as possible.

That’s why our team took great care again this year to prepare a trade fair experience that impressed not only us as AQIPA, but also our customers. Brands such as Syng, Marshall, Milo, GoPro and Pure enjoyed the greatest interest from customers this year. Why? You might ask.

Presenting Syng Speakers at IFA 2022

Syng Speakers offers a new way to enjoy music – one cell creates a deep, wide sound field with immaculate precision no matter where it’s placed. Two Cells working together in harmony give you a soundstage that fills the whole room and three or more cells mark the full potential of Triphonic audio, which is exactly why we place three Syng speakers in our listening room.

But that was not the only thing to be seen, or rather heard, in our listening room. Various other Bluetooth and smart design speakers from Braun, Marshall and Pure were also presented and could of course be tested. All in all, our Listening Room offered a great sound experience.

Milo, GoPro and Co

Now that we are moving more in the direction of outdoor, there are two exciting products that we were able to present. One of them is Milo, a Kickstarter project which raised more than million in 37 days. That keeps you in touch with your friends. Whether on the water, on the mountain or on the slopes, stay connected.

Of course, when we talk about outdoor gear, we can’t forget about GoPro. The company convinces with the new HERO11 and HERO 11 Creator Edition. The new action camera was launched just a few days ago and brings new cool features. Everything else about the new cameras can be found in the separate blog post.

We also had the great pleasure to welcome the Austrian Digital State Secretary Florian Tursky. Polaroid provided a photo station right at the entrance to our booth, where Christian Trapl and Florian Tursky had their pictures taken.

Polaroid Music at IFA 2022

Speaking of Polaroid… The company has outdone itself with its latest product launch, redefining Polaroid – Polaroid Music is now officially on the market. For more information, check out the latest Polaroid Music blog post.

In addition to presenting our product range, it is very important for us to get in touch with customers directly, to start conversations and to deepen relationships. Especially for our international guests, the IFA is a great opportunity to get a rough overview of our products.

About 30% of all our visitors are new customers and thus not insignificant opportunities to develop new business. In addition, more than 80% of our partners are sure that they would go to IFA with us again – all this only thanks to your help and your active support in all areas! Once again, a big thank you to all those who were involved in the preparations as well as in the implementation.
