Caffè Borbone was founded in 1996 and is one of the leading coffee producers, specializing in the compatible pods and capsules segment. The secret of Caffè Borbone products lies in the careful selection of raw materials, in the attention to innovative processes as well as in the future-oriented mentality.
The name Caffè Borbone evokes the Neapolitan specialization of true Italian espresso, in honor of the King of Naples Ferdinando II of the Two Sicilies. Under his enlightened rule, the Kingdom experienced a series of bureaucratic reforms and technological innovations, such as the construction of the Naples-Portici Railway, Italy’s first, and of advanced industrial plants, such as the Pietrarsa Workshops. He also gave a great impetus to the creation of a navy and merchant navy, through which he increased the level of foreign trade.
The Borbones are one of the most important and ancient ruling houses in Europe. Of French origin, the family is a cadet branch of the ancient Capetian dynasty, which, following the extinction of the other branches, inherited the throne of France in 1589. Together with the Habsburgs, they were and still are one of the greatest royal families in Europe from the 16th century onwards. The family of the Borbones includes sovereigns who have had tremendous historical influence on the country they governed and Europe in general. Today, the Borbones are the oldest European dynasty still in existence, and members of the house still hold the Spanish and Luxembourgian throne.
